The field guide to
Pizza Hut Classics.

Two stories, one map. The original 1969 red-roof Pizza Huts still standing — and the new wave of Pizza Hut Classic dine-ins that franchisees are bringing back, salad bar and all.

The two threads

A field guide, and a revival watch.

I.

The Originals

Buildings from 1969 through the early 1980s with the trapezoid mansard roof still intact — whether they’re still serving pizza, converted to other businesses, or sitting empty. A demolition watch.

II.

The Revival

Since 2019, Pizza Hut and its franchisees have officially converted 144+ locations back to the Classic format. Daland in Kansas, Emerge in Arizona, and more in 2026. We track every confirmed one.

III.

What counts

The gabled red roof. Booths, not chairs. Tiffany lamps. The salad bar. The red plastic cup. A Classic isn’t a style — it’s a checklist, and the official Pizza Hut Classic program enforces it.
